I truthfully get most of my Tri news from GTN. The info is clear, easy and I like the dynamic the three presenters have. It’s also very regular which is nice.
As a lot of others have commented, this is where I come for my triathlon news! As someone who’s reasonably new to the sport it’s quite hard to know where to begin and you guys always upload regularly with easy to consume content! Thank you team 👍🏻
I would say a couple things on why I believe that is the case for Age groupers being the fastest in those countries...The sport of triathlon is not cheap...the amount of time to train requires you to have a good economy besides work...the quality of food and life and infrastructure for instance when needing to go for a cycling trainning...average wheather...The Physiognomy of europeans...taller and leaner...ideal for these sports...The culture is very important as well...Countries like Brazil, Argentina, USA and so...have a big culture in other sports like Football, Basketball and so on...whereas in Europe there's been more people into swimming, triathlon, cycling...in the overall...plus the sponsorships...the money in triathlon is not much compare to orher sports making athletes choose other sports for a professional career...
As a Belgian triathlete. Cycling is really big here, a lot of regional clubs that train juniors. Honestly every town has a club, with a youth division. Alsof check the UCI world ranking. Belgian's are on top. And as cycling disproportionaly impacts racetimes. Belgian's tend to race Faster.
GTN. Always. We trust you guys 🙌 Keep it up 👊 PS.: on my way to my Full IM in 2022 I watched an episode from you guys with some details on timing and that was the thing that made me confident I could do it. Really appreciate all the content you produce and news of course. 🙏🥰
This one. With James. Happy I made it. Happy also that months later Heather commented on my nails from completing Cape Epic 🥰 You were part of my full journey. Can’t thank you enough 🤗
Brazilian here .... the IM Florianopolis has a easy swim, bike with only 800m of elevation and flat run .... the temperature is pretty chill during this may-june when the race happens. But, the fast times are due to a lot of drafting during the bike for AG and PROs as well , and also the motobikes normally helps the pro leaders and causes a lot of unreal splits
Interesting sponsor announcement strategy James! We are happy to announce SILCA as a new channel sponsor! They specialize in chain waxing products for cyclists. I don’t really like it because it takes so long for such a small benefit, but maybe if someone else does it for me I’ll do it. Thanks for your money though! 🤣 🤣
I've been super-impressed with their sealants, bike wash products and drip lubes - but I've got 3 kids and no time for tinkering in the garage, so if I'm racing the clock this year, I'll probably be reaching for their pre-waxed race chain whilst Mark melts wax in his garage... Just being honest 🤷♂
Find it on line as when I used to subscribe to 220 mag and another mag that I can’t remember the name of the content never really changed. If I bought a copy now it would be mainly the same.
I think Jägerbomb Turbo Sessions are more in Mark's challenges mindset: I wonder what he'll come up with and pity poor James for that one, but that's were mass should be on his side, for a change. I can only imagine what Heather will think watching it, knowing it is all based on that interstingly placed prop.
TriSpy : IM Lanzarote. Full distance with a sea swim (0m elevation start), a brutal profile but nothing over 600m (no real mountains), a short out and back about 80km in. Had to be either Lanza or Wales but Tenby doesn’t have the out and back.
How long could one train on a liquid diet? Would jager bombs out streak g&t? Could beer prove to be the superfood Alistair Brownlee was looking for all along?... so many questions.
The data may be skewed for IM Brazil/Florionopolis. There weren't many average athletes racing the year I did it, just elite. Maybe it's cultural? It has some decent elevation gain so it's not an easy bike. Not hard, but it keeps you honest. The year I did it there was a monsoon the entire race. Not one person at the finish line when I finished ... not even sure there was an announcer. Can't say I blame them with that weather. Was pretty cool to experience that type of finish vs. the typical uproar style finish. IM Kalmar and IM Texas are similar to IM Brazil... slightly less hilly but there's definitely enough elevation gain to keep you on your toes. The wind... ooph... in both races I've experienced gnarly wind that makes you wish you were going up a mountain instead. IM Texas is just a roll of the dice if you'll get the extreme wind or not but it seems both races will almost always be consistently windy every year.
No Australia? I think the data and/or analysis might be flawed.. or it doesn't take into account the distance Australians have to travel further across the globe for most races... but, I think Jones, Carfrae, Alexander, McCormack and Jacobs show there's a flaw.
If you really dabble into chain waxing, james, you will notice that it is less work than wet lube. Or at least equal. Less gunk on the chain. Less cleaning and you never have to degrease the chain. Since starting tri last year i right away started with waxing and not for one second regretted it. Never again oily hands.
A cloth with oil and run your chain thru it and change places 5 times to a clean spot. Done in 5 min. And yes I wax too for big events but no where close to as easy if you wax properly
i only look at this and slowtwitch. I was nowhere near a power used so I won't be subscribing. I would potentially pay for a classified listing though. I have bought two things, listed some that didn't sell there, and fulfilled one persons want to buy with my spares.

Thanks so much for the comment and we love that we are your primary source of news 😊
Likewise, I only get two news from GTN
I do too… but I’m not a triathlete 😂
Haha thanks a lot for the shoutout! 4 weeks to go! 💪🏻
Wishing you the best of luck! We're all about jumping into crazy epic challenges and will be following. (Also, please don't die!) 🥵
GTN is my source for all Triathlon news and so much more...love this channel ❤

*Greetings from Prague!* ❤🏊
*Thanks for the best news!* 👍
Our pleasure! Thanks for the comment!
The question- "where do you get Tri news"😂😂😂😂😂. FROM THIS CHANNEL ❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😊

This is where I get all my tri news for like the last 3-4 years!

cheers for the comment! We love that Triathlon is thriving in Belgium

I get all my news from you guys, love the channel
thank you! 🫶
We had Luc van Lierde in 1996 and 1999 who won Kona and was a huge boost for the triathlon scene in Belgium.
This is where I get all my news!
yay Heather is back , not enough of her on the channel , triatlon is a sport for women and men

Tri-Spy: That looks like IM Lanzarote! Did my trainingcamp there last week in preparation of the Norseman this Summer 🥳🥳😨😨
Tri-Spy must be IM Lanzarote! It's near the top of my bucket list to race in! Hello Saffa 👋
TriSpy - IM Switzerland Thun?
50% confidence here since im racing that this summer and know the elevation is worse than that 😅
Find it on line as when I used to subscribe to 220 mag and another mag that I can’t remember the name of the content never really changed. If I bought a copy now it would be mainly the same.
Which online sites do you use? thanks!
I hope Green-Bottlegate does not deter Heather from sharing more of her training on the show. We want to see how training is going.
@gtn tri spy that's Ironman Lanzarote I'm there for the second time this May, not gonna lie looked at that elevation profile a few times!!
I think Jägerbomb Turbo Sessions are more in Mark's challenges mindset: I wonder what he'll come up with and pity poor James for that one, but that's were mass should be on his side, for a change. Let's see if it happens!
We kind of are the Kenyans of cycling over here😅

16:05 somebody didn´t read the script before the show kkkkk

Tri24 and then gtn

Agreed, IM Lanzarote 🙌

20:00 it's obviously because it is much harder to get into triathlon if you don't have the money for it...
belgium 🇧🇪
18:40 belgium gang
GTN only

Sam is in the list of Challenge Roth. I hope he will recover by this time :(
Interesting that IM Gulf Coast or Florida isn't on the list.

we look forward to using the Silca products!
Mark picks the try spy and a man named Phil Threlfall gets the first right answer 🤔😂
suspicious!
If Belgium has the best triathletes then why am I not getting any faster on my diet of beer and cheese? 😂
We evented (with university of Leuven) a proteïne recovery beer . Ingredients: grains and whey proteïne. And it tastes like beer. It's called THRIVE.
don't forget the fries with mayo!
Where do the fastest triathletes come from? Not from my house I know that much.🥵🥵🥵🥵
😂
I do not care where they come from, who they are or how they got there, I am in my world the best and that is all I need to know!
a great mindset! 👍
The fastest triathletes all train in Doperville.
Spoiler. We come from Colorado!
You are the modern day Tri journalist. Watch other media sources and retweet.
Copenhagen and Barcelona, 10%-15% easier
You are talking about Switzerland, Belgium and Denmark, but the illustration show Switzerland, Belgium and Norway. What is wrong with you?
