From the start I must tell my saying is or only may be flawed. So I use this site for quite some time , gonna buzz and see the community here if it's worth anything or not... from what I've seen in hours of forum surfing of this site , really disappointing answers , simple way of thinking ... in general stereotypical. Alright, so my question is , how do you keep going ? and this is not some question waiting for some answer like " Ah find your way" or "Get along" . Really think about the answer. I keep going from pure inertia , I have no goals in life, unsociable person , hate society in general ,all people around me are doing is only trying to find a partner or desperately running after material wealth, which is quite degrading and ridiculous considering we are not animals... Right now I am at some computer science university , step in life that I may have really flubbed. Since I really see everything gray and pointless , studying is just a nuisance just like the way everybody is looking at the way I talk and think under their eyebrows. I'm not a bad person , I suppress this gray side of mine as much as possible in order to get by in society. |

English isn't your first language, is it? Also, you're way too edgy. Loosen up and stop trying to be a 'deep dark character' in a shitty shounen, acting like that it's no surprise people in university look down on you - you sound like a 13 year old into grunge rock and linkin park. Grow up, man. |

Well that "find your way" is pretty much what anyone would answer to a problem like yours. Try to join clubs (if you have any) Start hanging around people like your friends's friends, I really dunno you sound so down man. |

I always considered my English decent, hmh , anyway I had expected this answers even before I wrote anything, and you all have fake personalities, your mask will always keep you covered as you keep living, just as mine, and yes, saying my mask is edgy is actually exaggeratedly kind. Loosen up ... meh I could lie and say no or yes but actually I do not understand what you are aiming at and it is ironical because I was the one considering everybody rushing restlessly. Anyway thank you for reading and bearing with my bore. I don't join clubs... I would not fit anywhere , thank you for the idea though. Oh about writing poetry, it would have no tangibility whatsoever. I've always hated how in school we were put to learn what other people wrote on paper and some other wits decide that we have to learn it by heart, giving us just garbage memory usage ( for most of us ) and deciding that that specific person is speaking truth in his sayings, obviously I am not saying this as a way to brag that I would get so famous that I would be thought of in schools... just pointing something out. |

Gonna try and break it down in points 1. Your english isn't bad 2. Some will always try to be badasses there's no stopping it nor there is any reason to. 3. Loosen up, stop being yourself that says that hates society, you will live with it till you die(thank you Capitan Obvious) 4. That's my point, try to join a club, no matter what you think(you can't predict the future) where everyone seems nice, you could even try to join a club where there are girls only, they tend to stay away from bad jokes and you could easily fit in. 5. Try to write prose, it helps you express yourself more than poetry does imho. 6. Gonna add something more, try reading quotes and learn some truths about life from them, I always feel better after that. |

I'm sorry. Just about anything could be broken down to its core like that with a negative stigma attached to it. I still think though most of us have the capability to do what we love while making a living, trouble of course is figuring out what it is. I may have interest in computer repairing (no idea, but it appeals to me), but later on in life, I may find out what I've been doing never satisfied me to begin with, which means I haven't found out what I'll love to do. It's one of those mysteries of life I seek to solve within myself, and plays a major part in me continuing to walk this planet with optimism. |

I must disagree , although it is my fault for making myself this image, I am in no case emo, at least from what I know , and most definitely not in any "phase". TallonKarrde23 said: That's just going to make him worse. You think so? When I went through my own angsty teenager phase, I found reading the Catcher in the Rye helped me out a lot. In retrospect it is easy to see the difficulties of being a teenager as being fairly trivial and unimportant, but I don't think there are too many people with the foresight to realise it at the time. Reading Catcher meant that I didn't feel quite so lonely anymore, and that there were other people out there that understood that restlessness, that muddled anger with the world. I wouldn't say it's the best book I have ever read, but certainly it is the one which had the most profound effect on me at the time I read it. Blaacklion said: I always considered my English decent, hmh , anyway I had expected this answers even before I wrote anything, and you all have fake personalities, your mask will always keep you covered as you keep living, just as mine, and yes, saying my mask is edgy is actually exaggeratedly kind. Loosen up ... meh I could lie and say no or yes but actually I do not understand what you are aiming at and it is ironical because I was the one considering everybody rushing restlessly. Anyway thank you for reading and bearing with my bore. When the people in this thread said you were edgy, they were being sarcastic; your problem is actually rather common place, and for most of us that have gone through it ourselves or have heard similar stories from others, it is all rather mundane. Blaacklion said: Oh about writing poetry, it would have no tangibility whatsoever. There are numerous benefits to reciting poetry; it will improve your writing ability, your memory, give you a sense of rhythm and (hopefully) give you some appreciation of the beauty of the world. As an artform it is by far one of the most skillfull as well as one of the most underrated. You are expected to believe that what you are taught is true because to do it otherwise overcomplicates matters. In my science classes for example I was taught outright lies, only to find that within the year I was being told something completely different. It's not that there was a new discovery that rendered the old information obsolete; it was simply helpful to our understanding of other concepts if the explanation of this one aspect was simplified. When it comes to philosophy, there are arguments and reasoning to apply. Your understanding of these is highly unlikely to be adequate for you to argue for or against a philosophy, but you can still be taught some of the basic concepts without too much difficulty. I have some understanding of Plato for example, and I can already see the problems in what he talks about because of the subsequent development of humanity, even though I was not present for most of it. You only need to look at Fascism and Propaganda to see the dangers of Plato's desire to censor poetry, for example. By all means, question what you are taught- but do it by looking at what you are taught in a critical way, not decrying the fact you are asked to assume it is true in the first place. You will find as you progress in academia that quite the opposite of what you think, being critical is something they very much want to encourage in students. Just keep in mind that whether these people are right or wrong, if nothing else they are at least important and therefore worth finding out about. |

Blaacklion said: and I had started jump-reading when you went full teacher obvious about benefits for poetry. I'm pleased that I don't need to convince you that poetry is a good thing; there are so many people who see it is useless and boring. Forgive the misunderstanding; although I think if you didn't have the tendency to make vague and rambling complaints about things then it probably would not have occurred. In English, we use these things called "paragraphs" which are used to indicate a change in subject. So for example when you made your comment about poetry and then went on to discuss the problems of the education system as you see them, naturally I assumed that there was a connection between the two. And you said you thought your English was decent? Hahaha, oh dear... Blaacklion said: I dislike when people compare themselves to me, truly dislike it. Rest assured that you are your own little snowflake and your problems are entirely your own; but they are not unlike the problems faced by many other humans, and almost all of us have had the exact same feelings about life as you claim to have right now. But don't worry; some day you'll get over it and become that happy ray of sunlight that I am today, and be the brightness in the lives of those around you! Doesn't that sound wonderful! Blaacklion said: Anyway going to sleep now, my attention hunger was fed more than it should have today. dankickyou said: ITT: First World problems. Hey OP, do you have a roof over your head? do you go to bed fed? Do you have the opportunity for education? I am assuming you do since you have internet connection and can indulge in a hobby like anime. As much as OP is a hilariously ignorant kid trying to be edgy - don't start this retarded flawed logic. Everyone has problems - you can't say some kid being forced to be a child soldier has it worse than a person living in a billion dollar mansion. Life isn't that simple. Human beings aren't that simple. Just because something "seems" worse doesn't make it worse. There is no objective measurement of happiness or "good living". A person barely surviving in a third world country can easily be a happier human being than someone living in suburban white America. Happiness is something within the self, not something determined by your living conditions or outward appearances. The level of how bad or big or small a problem is is also indeterminable. You can't compare things just because they SEEM worse or better. You can't objectively say having to scavenge for potable water is a bigger problem than your wife cheating on you - because while it SOUNDS worse, the effect (and thus the measurement of how bad it is) it has on the person is what makes it a problem. The guy barely surviving and being beaten down every day and living without a home is used to it, that doesn't BOTHER him anymore - but the guy living the nice life who loses his son is going to be greatly fucked up by that incident. It's all a matter of perspective - but not your personal one. Hell, by assuming anyone without the things OP has are somehow worse off you're offending them all and shitting on their lives and pasts with your disgustingly empty and misplaced pity. You don't decide what life is worse than another - nobody fucking does. |
