Personally I don't see any value in animations. I would rather he make renders as you can tell more story in less time with a render.Animation ok, but voice acting few games have it and it's usually shitty imo.
Animation at the cost of a delay on a multiple decades plan is a big no though. It shows really poor planning: why wait the last moment (ie developping the very udpate which will contain animations) to try to recrut an animator instead of planning for future updates, he would have time to test different candidates![]()
But since time is changing and majority people use Animation as a important criterion nowadays I can't even say that it was wrong of him to include them to keep with changing trends.
Voice acting - I play with zero volume, so i couldn't have cared for it. But I'll listen to the voice actress and see how good she is.
I don't really know about the quality of voice actors in Germany. Had it been a Japanese voice actor I would surely be less worried, since their market is flooded with exceptional voice actors.
I too would like only quick updates. I am not using this update as basis for time taken in animation. A lot of arrangements are to be made during the first time, so it can get time taking.
If the animation work is entirely given to someone else then I don't think it will ever be a cause of delay. Since if L&P can tell in advance what animations he wants, the helper could start immediately and during the same time L&P could do the Renders. That way the two will be able to complete their work on time without delaying.
