| THOUGHTS ON THE DUB VERSION OF FIRST EPISODE: It's definitely not among the greatest dubs of all time, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching it dubbed. With a script that can be more free during narrations without being too cluttered unlike with subtitles, and with fitting pronounciations (like Bam actually being called Bam and not Yoru, same I can assume for shinsoo later on), the dub feels like a refreshing alternative to the sub. I didn't feel the pacing issues that I felt a bit with the sub's first episode since the dialogue felt a lot better handled. The music in English was pretty cool since we don't get English versions to many openings nowadays so having that difference with experiencing everything in English was neat in a modern day dub. Won't say I love the actual songs but the concept was nice. It's not a god tier dub, but its very good. And Johnny Yong Bosch did a great job as Bam in the first episode, and same goes to the rest of the voice actors/actresses. I'd recommend trying it out if you are comfortable with watching dubbed versions of shows. |

| I'm going to give this three episodes, but the first episode of ToG leaves me feeling that I will not be finishing the series. If we keep on having inorganic exposition dumps by other character where it feels much more like they are talking to the audience then another character then I might not even make it to episode three. I am typically very forgiving of slight flaws in anime, but that first episode was a slog. |
| "Begone, woman" XD The art style is so pretty, it feels like a waste to make such a lame opening. It had so much potential. The song's dope though. The pacing is really fast, it made me a little bit confused. Well, let's see how it goes~ |
| Started watching this because of the hype and the good ranking. It was an okay beginning but nothing that wowed me. The story so far looks very much "run of the mill". Another SAO-like anime where people have to move up levels to get somewhere. I give this show another four episodes before my final verdict but so far I am really not impressed. |

| This gives me the same vibes as Shinsekai Yori but I hope it's better than Shinsekai Yori because it was a disappointment to me. I hate they don't write the names as they are pronounced in the subs. |

| Looks interesting from what I saw so far. I can understand why people found it a little bit to fast paced, for me personally it was okay. Even if a lot of people don't like it, the first thing which came into my mind after hearing about climbing a tower with different stages was SAO. But especially stage 2 also reminds me of HxH or Naruto, like some other people mentioned. Bam definitely doesn't seem like someone who has great experience in fighting, so this can get pretty nasty for him. Especially with that cliffhanger at the end. It's true, the animation is different and most likely not everyones taste, but I like it so far. OP and ED are also pretty catchy. Looking forward to what will happen next. |

| Unique animation they got here, looks pretty good o me. Mysterious mc named Bam they got here, looking forward to how everything is going to unfold and to learn more of this interesting world. Really like this Hedon guy, seems like a shady dark fellow you don't wanna mess with. |

| Rewatching Tower of God now, just to see how I feel about the anime now despite the really weak adaptation of material. The first episode I have to say, I still enjoyed fairly quite a bit. Yeah it was fast, but I loved the music, the dub voice acting, the artistic sense of the backgrounds the show used with symbolism befitting of the Tower of God and much more. I even love the visuals since it feels like it's come straight out of a comic book and has this raw, charismatic feel to it. Like I'm opening a book and it's just come to life straight from that. The character designs in general I really liked and even the monster was nicely drawn. Only thing the visuals need more is a bit less choppiness with movement, but the actual drawings and unforgiving nature of the Tower itself was well portrayed. The pacing was fast but with the dub, still pretty easy to understand whatever happened so far, and I liked the introduction of some of the characters so far, especially Yuri Ha Zahard. Plus, some of the word choices were much more fitting in the dub that were different with the use of subtitles for the Japanese version. Like the Black March saying that Bam has a divine face, instead of a cute face, which are both way different with divine more fitting since divine is a mix of beautiful and god-like, which is important for the setting for sure. In general, the dub handled the dialogue a lot better and it's evident. In general, pretty good episode and introduction for me. Now that I'm not expecting a masterpiece of an anime in my head and just going into it to watch it and see how it is blind without expectations, I feel like I enjoyed this a lot more, not blinded by the hype of how the anime is adapting one of my favorite stories ever like when I first saw the episode back in April. |
| been told that this wasn't a great adaptation so i lowered my expectations but damn it still didnt reach that even after i lowered it. animation's nice in a few parts but really ...cheap. i dont remember a lot of the early parts from the webtoon (hence im watching this) but they definitely skipped a lot of things. i still remember some of yuri and evans' convo, they also changed black march..? wasn't it a pin/needle ? i love skz but the op + ed couldve matched the show better |
| Definitely not the best introduction to the series. Hopefully, there will be more information about the MC and the tower itself. As for the animation, it doesn't look that good (considering the standards of the hype and praise this show got). And as for the art style, it doesn't seem to be consistent. Anyways, I'm primarily watching this show not because of its hype, but for Kevin Penkin. This is the first anime i'ved watched featuring Kevin, so i have high hopes (since i heard only good things about his work. |

| Not gonna lie, not a fan of the art style, it sure is being a mystery so far though. Hope it gets better. At 13 Eps I'll continue - and hope for better. |

| I only started watching this anime because of Stray Kids 😂 The songs are awesome but there's no proper animation for OP/ED. Anyways, I'm kinda lost on the plot and test 1 was boring as hell. It felt like a lot of scenes were cut cus they just jumped into the plot. The main dude is lame and generic like most shounen leads. But test 2 being the Hunger Games kinda has me interested. |
| Pretty interesting one. Comes right to the point, establishes the characters and the world mechanics in an awesome way. This anime looks pretty awesome at this moment. My favorite here is the music direction it is just perfect!! Way to go!! |

| Well, here I am back to this show since it ended in Spring 2020, that time was before I was writing MAL posts so you won’t see anything from me during this time, and honestly I miss not feeling the need to write stuff like I do now but it’s good times all the same lol. And the reason behind me being back is because of the upcoming 2nd season which I had no idea was a thing until I checked Summer 2024 shows recently, and let me tell you how surprised I was lol, but this also meant I have to rewatch this first season because I could not remember much, so once again, I am back. And wow man, one thing I do remember is how hype this show was for being the first manhwa anime adaptation, and i remember really enjoying it back then and it still looks great today, such an intriguing first episode too, it was almost like watching it again for the first time since it’s been so long, and princess Yuri is still an absolute babe. And that OP and ED man, love how they used a Korean group for them and they are both very cool sounding songs, very nostalgic now too. I’m definitely looking forward to the rest of this rewatch, let’s see if my opinion changes on it from back then. |

| When I was looking at upcoming anime for Summer 2024 I noticed this was getting a 2nd season and the synopsis sounded interesting enough so here I am checking out the first season. So far what I'm understanding from this series is that a boy named Yoru is following a girl he likes, Rachel, who wants to climb a tower to see the stars and along the way Yoru has gotten help from a princess and the sword she lent him. Plus he's an "irregular" which I believe means he has special powers and I'm curious to see how he uses them to survive. |
| Having such a weak lead. Always causes the same issues. The production was fine. The dialogue trite and hindered. Until they could transition the lead into another environment. With other much much stronger characters. Ones that immediately grab attention. Without introduction nor background. Simple visual pull. That the team can bring to a higher level in this medium. Ie you have to get to the last literal 60s. To see yourself immersed at all. The rest of the time. Its almost painful seeing such quality. Have to deal with that level of writing. This sources author has obvious strengths. In particular areas of crafting a work. Its probably not a mistake to make the lead a piece of blank paper. But they just did not have the talent to pull off a Subaru. From a weakling. Or the acumen to write in a Kazuma. Both inherently powerless. Paperweights of young men. Both with defined, some less or more so, than the other. This lead? He's the worst type of weakling to present in a story. Yeah, it needed one like him. But man could it have benefited from a real driving force of a leading male. Instead of what we have here. |
