Falcom do AMAZING GAMES!!!

Definitely agree with the One Piece comment, I couldn't think of another game series or manga that's a similar in terms of how massive the world building and lore is.

FINAL FANTASY 8 would be awesome !!!!!!

in fact it would be great if an anime studio would make an on-going regular final fantasy series....you know? a dedicated project with high production values & quality

and they would'nt need to necessarily adapt from any of the games...they could create an original with square enix heavily involved...the possibilities would be endless

its just a thought but it is a great idea

Chrono Trigger anime would be fantastic. With at least moderately decent budget, that is. I wouldn't like to hear about this game's adaptation only to see a poorly made anime.

My top picks would be either a full series based on one of the Dragon Quest games (maybe 3, 4 or 5) or a Chrono Trigger series.

Trails series is well overdue for decent adaptations. So far we only got a midquel of CS II and CS III with bad rating, plus an earlier OVA. With the right studio and right staff, this can easily be a great series.

Nier Replicant/Gestalt needs an adaptation too, just like Automata.

Fire Emblem.

I also think it would be cool if for the next Jump Force type game they made it into a JRPG instead of a fighter.

Here is a Japanese who dislikes JRPGs and has been playing merely American-made paper-and-pencil RPGs.

Except for «Digan no Maseki»(The Stone of Digan). Most of foreign people haven't ever played it nor have seen it, methinks.

The setting, in which the fundamental layer of a fantasy world was run by over-technology, is now a cliché, but it is a scenario in the tradition of science fiction around the 1970s (the game designer and developer president later dissolved his company and became an author).
It was released in 1988, so the year after «Ys,» but the orientation is completely different. While most JRPGs are about a teenage boy growing up, in this one an ordinary villager protagonist goes on a quest to find a way to save his newlywed wife from a strange disease. In other RPGs, when a giant dragon appears, you would either defeat it or fight with it, but the black dragon in this game transcends such concepts.
Despite being a work of this age, the freedom of action is awesome. If you want to go out and play in the city's brothels, you can do so, and as a result, there is a high probability that you will catch a disease that may affect its combat. However, this is not such a lewd game, so there are no explicit visuals in moe-manga style during such doing. On the other hand, there are full-screen cutscenes with classical sci-fi touch paintings that are comparable to those of Frazetta or Boris, in which an artistic female nudity (of alien races) is displayed. Visual design is by Studio Nue (known for «Macross» and others) and Naoyuki Kato.

In this age of open world, multi-user, and AI, I wish someone would remake it.

An adaptation for teens of this game is «Gdleen» for the Super NES, which was animated. However, its taste is just another mainstream JRPG, and its distinctive features are lost.

It's definetely Ib.

I loved the game ever since it's release and since even Angels of Death got an anime, I don't see why Ib shouldn't. Especially with it's "goodbye" ending.

Video games and anime tend to mix surprisingly poorly, but this is more often when an anime is made into an RPG, rather than the other way around. The video game could have the greatest written story ever, but if its boring, like almost all turn-based RPGs are, the game is terrible.

Sometimes, a boring video game with a good story can be made into a good anime. And a bad anime could make a fun video game.

So maybe the Mother series could be a good comedy anime? I don't know.

To be fair the OVA is very old and doesn't really hold up very well. The series has also changed a lot since Mystery of the Emblem so the way a modern adaptation of the franchise into animation would be done is not in any way similar to what that old OVA would be like. Also the dub for the old OVA is a hilarious mess when it comes to continuity as the names used do not match with the Nintendo of America localized names used from Smash Melee onwards so you get some weird trivia like Marth being called "Prince Mars"

A Like a Dragon animated spinoff would be pretty great especially if it covered some of the Yakuza Online content. While I don't think the main story would really be worth animating since it effectively acted as an early draft of the story of Yakuza: Like a Dragon, the secondary story, Wanderings of the Golden Dragon is something that would really be worth adapting since it tells an original side story set in 1999 with Ryuji Goda from Yakuza 2 as the protagonist. Since Online is probably not going to get an official localization, it would be a great way of getting this content available to English speaking fans as it is one of the few original stories in the series not legally available in english with the only other entries having not been localized being the Kurohyou games and Kenzan.

That series sold poorly in Japan. And that kind of story is impossible to adapt properly, as is almost everything else by that writer. The only game of his that would make a good anime is World's End Club.

Gonna be an obscure answer here but Xenogears. Big crazy Sci-Fi world and a lot of complex themes are tackled. It could be something like Neon Genesis Evangelion or Ergo Proxy if the adaptation was done right and given the correct director.

@LSSJ_Gaming @M-E_Zander Fellow fire emblem fans! I personally don't think the games would do that well as animes. The stories aren't anything extraordinary and the main charm of the games come from the the gameplay. Personaly I love the stories though and would love to see Eirika x Seth animated. The tale of a Princess and her loyal knight, the most beloved romance in all of Renais.

Digital Devil Saga!

Any of the Shin Megami Tensei games would make interesting movies or anime series but Digital Devil Saga, both games, would make the perfect sci-fi series. It’s got a cyberpunk setting, people turning into demons, religious imagery, war, lost memories and an overarching mystery which makes for one of the most interesting stories I’ve played in a JRPG.

My #1 pick would be Final Fantasy Tactics. Most of the FF games would make good adaptations. Others have mentioned it, I'll agree with Xenogears. Breath of Fire was a game I enjoyed when I was a kid, would probably be good. Some of the Fire Emblem games would be good.

I want to say the Suikoden series but maybe only focusing on a few characters and not all the over 100 characters you recruit in every one of the games.
