All this is the fault of 2K games, not Rockstar.

I'm not sure where you got this information...

They *did* confirm Story DLC around launch and then went back on that with the excuse "We never said that" but that doesn't necessarily relate to Shark Cards.

As well, I have never paid for a shark card. Same goes for everyone I play with. We all have more in-game money than we know what to do with and haven't played since the last big Update, and even then hadn't played *regularly* since Heists.

Couple that with the fact that each big update gives you about $400,000 for just downloading and signing in to GTA Online and... Shark Cards become unnecessary. That is, unless you blew tens of millions on the useless Yachts.

Though, the cutting out mods thing *is* bullshit but that's more on Bethesda's front at this point.

Somebody raised enough hell apparently.

"Belgium is looking to investigate EA's Battlefront 2 for unlicensed gambling. If found guilty they can be fined up to several hundred thousand dollars."

I'll probably get this game. Lot of angry nerds who aren't even sure what they're upset over because of the news about the Reddit comment. Everyone who actually plays it says the progression system feels pretty fair (more rewarding than Destiny 2, in particular) in its current state. Gunplay looks pretty interesting, dogfighting looks better than the original. Heroes seem more fun to play than they did in the original as well. DICE game, so of course it's super polished. Way I see it, it's probably pretty fun; if I never play long enough to max out my account, so what? If some whales pay to max out theirs, whatever. It's a game with a high TTK, so it's not like the 2.5% increases you get between card levels 3 and 4 are going to outweigh any significant difference in strategic ability.

I am not gonna tell you not to get it, but I played it and the system feels not fair. That comes from someone who pulled 1500h into Warframe because the progression was just fun in that game. It's not in BF2 and the worst part is while you are progressing, you get constantly owned by people with better equip. It makes quite a bit of a difference. And these people will still progress faster than you when you reach where they are, 80h down the line.

The Starfighter is a lot of fun, but it isn't rare that I get killed by people having Grade 3 and Grade 4 Starcards. Before I can even take a single shot at them. They fire faster, they do more damage and worst of all, they turn faster, which makes you unable to catch them once they know you are there.

Gunplay is using Vanguard and one-hit kill anything. That is how most players currently play and it is highly effective. Heroes die way faster and are fun, but chances are you get to play them either never or rarely - because other people with better equipment kill you and you won't rack up the points for them. I am not against whales having their fun by paying, but I don't think they should get any advantage. Their advantage should be to look cool and maybe buy a booster which grants them faster rank progression.

On paper and by itself, no, but it takes a while for a normal player to reach Grade 3 and from Grade 3 to 4 it takes about 24h of constant farming to open enough crates to get ONE card from 3 to 4. Also, sorry to disappoint you, most maps have little to no tactical component and there is no squad system to coordinate between team members so it ends up mostly rushing things down or you go on a one man rampage if you are good enough. Chances are however, that you die extremely fast. Even playing with friends you won't spawn next to each other, you just get a green triangle on the map so you can see where your friends currently are.

And if you want to see how much of a difference it can make having the star cards, well, here you go: www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7TmXpCJI8s

Again, buy it if you are fine with the way the progression works. For me personally, there were so many other games released in the past 2 months, I am good. :)

Btw, disclaimer - I used the Origin Access to play 10h of the game for free, I did not buy it. If you are unsure, at least buy Origin Access for 4$ and check it out first. If you don't like it, you save 60$, if you do, you get a 10% discount so you still save 6$ on the purchase, so overall still have the game 2$ cheaper. Oh and your progress carries over if you chose to purchase it. Origin Access saved me 60$ on this game and 60$ on Andromeda so far.

To me, someone who has no feelings towards the game whatsoever, I think the "so what" is that this is a medium that already has issues with being associated with and/or outright condoning questionable behaviors, and something like what Battlefront is doing doesn't help things, especially since it's a Star Wars game.

One step forward (in terms of Battlefront II being much more content rich than Battlefront), two steps back.

Even less. While it has more content than the "modern" Battlefront, it has less and is more clumsily made than the original Battlefront II.

If you have never used it, you might even get a week of it for free as a trial and you can cancel any time. If you don't like it, you got some time to test out the selection of other games for free. Andromeda is in their library as well so you COULD play the "not bad" multiplayer of Mass Effect Andromeda or check out the story. Or play Mirror's Edge, which was already mentioned above - or Dead Space, Dragon Age or, my advice, This War of Mine, which has exceptional narrative and tells people about survival in a warzone, including making morally questionable decisions (steal medication from old people to help stay your own little group alive? What if they attack you when you take it? Do you run away? Do you defend yourself and kill them?).

EA may pull one or the other BS with their payment models and "payed demos" aren't really that customer friendly, but at least you got the option to check out their games before dropping 60$ and regret it. Don't take our word or anyone else's and check it out yourself.

Yeah, it's pretty nice; they even have a "cancel anytime here" link right when you finish paying, which I used. Will give the trial a shot later.
