I still wonder how Johan can convince all kinds of people to help him.
Also, it was cool to see Tenma pull a MacGyver stunt xD
He looks totally like a new man now. Not anymore the doubty doctor who shaked before some things. Good to know that he remains with the 'Justice' sense... for now. But still theres something I don't like about hes new personality now.
This episode seemed like a filler to me. I am not saying it was a bad ep. Just that almost no plot was revealed. Only a note from Johan and another Johan's manipulated person.
But I really wonder how is JOhan manipulating people. My biggest guess is that he befriends them, and the tries to psychologically affect him after finding out his life priorities, his past etc. It is a wokr of a true genius.
great episode stapling his arm shut hm didnt think of a method like that
Behold of my awesomeness~
controversial and/or sensitive topics likely devolve into the same repetitive, derogatory, abusive, and harassing comments can no longer be posted.
But my feels.
gatotsu911 said: Wow. Tenma has got to be one of the biggest Mary Sues I have ever seen in a critically acclaimed anime.
Mary Sue? The guy was abandoned by his fiance, saved a kid that became a killer, saw his patient killed in front of his eyes, and is wanted for murder committed by the child he saved? Yeah, he's really a Mary sue.
"Yes, I have been deprived of emotion. But not completely. Whoever did it, botched the job."
Looks like plot is moving slowly this is good. it wouldn't been any of fun if Tenma would just find Johan so quickly it would be then only 12-episode series.
About Episode:
That rat guy who was in the bar drinking stuff at beginning of this episode he looks funny haha. Only thinking about money and business well his basically thief. So it's just normal for him.
When he want to that mansion and close to that door I am pretty sure he sensed maybe Johan in there. Cause he described it like scary feeling and so on. Again that was kind of scary Tenma was behind his back haha didn't see that coming.
So they both went back to that house after that rat guy I mean Otto said that he would help Tenma and told everything he would from that certain case involving couples.
And when Tenma opened that door I was like HOLY SHIT! Johan manipulating again someone with befriending them and so on. That was seriously really scary man just sit on the chair and points that weapon.
This plot didn't seemed to advice much only little because Johan had message for Tenma kind of odd message I am now becoming a big monster lol.
Maybe whole series is going to go this way that Johan is leaving notes and Tenma is picking them up don't know but that would I guess for this. Also Johan is known Erich haha again fake name. How many fake name this guy really has O_O
Also those guys who put set up for Tenma and wanted to him aid that man who had done evil things. I'm actually suprised that Tenma did it even he was so against it first. This guy however seemed good in the end and gave himself to cops. so yeah I think that was nice of him to do that for Tenma saving his life.
Ending was hilarious Tenma and Otto just walking there together and Otto is now like Tenma's partner or something like that. What adventure will wait Tenma now hmm... I can only guess.
So so episode. But I know it was needed to show that Tenma is now choosing who he helps and who not, that's big deal for him.
And as for Otto, I kinda hate this character.
Here we see Dr. Tenma acting outside what what he knows. Doctors are not judges. They are supposed to heal/treat everyone no matter who they are. After setting on this path, we see him judging this terrorist if he is a “human” or a “monster”. He’s taking it into his own hands now, even if his life is in danger.
-Nothing can stay unchanged. Even so, can you still keep on loving this place?
-Be still my soul; when change and tears are past, all safe and blessed we shall meet at last.
So Johann can manipulate people through words and Tenma is now used to seeing people getting shot or killed in front of him we still have a long way to go I like the pacing now I gotta go to sleep I'll marathon this later.
Suicide alone is bad enough, but to kill someone else too? It takes a (literally) sick mind to do such a thing. It's both tragic and infuriating.
Is Johan supposed to have demons? That seems to be the implication at this point.
I don't think Tenma would have been wrong regardless as to whether he saved the terrorist's life. I do believe the terrorist deserves to die, though. There is no appropriate justification for murder; only self-defense. Murderers themselves should be executed by the law, not by those seeking revenge.
The atmosphere and pacing are great. I'm loving the OP as well.
I do hope we get more character development for the side characters soon. So far it seems Tenma and Johan (and, possibly, the detective) are the only ones that will be fleshed out. Given that that's my only gripe so far and this is early on in a slow paced series, I'd say it's doing very well.
Loved it when Tenma bitch-slapped the guy's gun when he stood up and accepted to stop the guy's bleeding lol. Nice ep, I have no problem with slow pacing whatsoever. Stop whining and enjoy the anime
Similar to the previous episode, this one acts somewhat as a stand-alone. Unlike the previous episode, this one seemed much more "sloppy". The gun-training one felt very complete, with the relationship between the solider and the orphaned girl developing into a father-daughter type one.
All this episode did was demonstrate that the MC is able to put complicated moral issues aside in order to save a life. This is something that we could already assume about him, to be honest.
So Johan is having fun with his crimes, that message gave me the chills, the monster is still growing.
Tenma saved a terrorist and a thief is his new follower.
So now Temra has become a god that can choose who will live and who will die? I understand back then in the hospital that it a moral choice, the kid arrived first after all, but here? all that talk with the terrorist was hard to digest.
I think this was the worse ep so far. Temra has the motivation to train 5 months intensely, but just dont give a shit anymore if someone will shoot him? I just dont get it... A few questions.
1- how did johan know that the guys in the hospital would eat the candy
2- how did he get access to the chemicals?
3- how did he, in coma, just closed the package in vacuum with a nice lace on it? (rewatch and you will understand what i mean)
Im really thinking about dropping this series. too bad, its premises were quite intriguing
Wow... he is now judging the people he is gonna treat (heal) talk about changing his conviction but I can’t blame him after all that has happened to him...
It was really interesting to see how Tenma dealt with having a criminal's life depending on him yet again. I really want to see what's up with Anna so I hope there will be some focus on her soon.
It is nice to see Dr. Tenma get a sidekick for once. There is at least some comedic relief. Also, wee see more character development in Tenma. He thinks of terrorists as monsters but when he learns that they were doing it for their own reasons, he offers to help. Tenma is a knight in shining armor, cause he was not worried if he got caught by the police.
Also, Manhattans need cherry. Got to remember that next time I go for a drink.
Without change,we end up becoming the very person we hate.
I was dead until the moment I met you. I was a powerless corpse pretending to be alive. Living without power, without the ability to change my course, was bound to lead me to a slow death.
