Separately, I want to thank those owners who diligently look after their fursuit and strive with all their might to restore and update them from their master, and are not afraid to ask for repairs, tech. service and does not throw your furry (and not so furry) friend into the far corner. Thank you, I really appreciate it.
Despite the fact that this dragon is already quite old, he is still very young and I am glad that he will be actively walking even longer after his update.
The main thing that needed to be restored was the leatherette scales that were literally crumbling in my hands. Now, a new one was made from silicone, from which I usually cast pads and noses, i.e. the most wear-resistant and durable.
Leatherette turned out to be a very capricious and unpredictable material for fursuits. Despite the fact that he had been in this head for about 5 years (the head was created even earlier), their safety margin turned out to be insufficient for an active life. The old scales had to be completely removed, this turned out to be a rather labor-intensive task, it shattered into small pieces, but it was necessary that all unnecessary be removed.
Both on the throat and on the paws, all the scales were recreated; this is, of course, a heavier option than eco-leather, but now it will last for many years.
Unlike the old scales, which were glued and sewn into one another, separately cast silicone comes together and intact, scale to scale, with the rare exception of the main joints, and now will not come apart from each other as before. All new scales are completely sewn to the fur and placed on the fabric.
And first they bathed him ^^ I even forgot that he was so bright!
The painting of the horns, spikes and hard shields on the muzzle has been updated, the airbrushing has been slightly updated, and the spikes on the chin have been strengthened.
