Might just be me but, isn't it likely that Skummy is Bluecat? He talks the same, he knows exactly what Bluecat is thinking, and has the same random disappearances that he feels weirdly compelled to give a bullshit excuse for. It seems completely in character for Bluecat to be so emotionally fucked up that he can't stop himself from frequenting the forum he hates so much, yet doesn't dare to do so under his own name.

This project is done. Bluecat has moved on, and he did so a year ago. It's the most simple explanation and it covers all the bases. He's purposely giving three-month updates to keep patreons engaged and to keep the dreaded abandoned tag away. He's not sharing any of his work, has all but abandoned all previous lines of communication, gives excuse after excuse. It's a lot of money still, so it's worth keeping up appearances, however degrading and humiliating, if you're depressed and down on your luck.

Anyone who has done any bit of coding knows the fabled merge is nonsense. It's a few afternoons of work, maybe a week of planning and decision making. Any tricky part can easily be put on the back burner. In fact, the whole merge could just as well be done as a second project while the main content keeps getting produced. It's all bullshit. There is no work done. No artwork, no coding, no nothing. For whatever reason, Bluecat pulled the plug, stopped working and decided he couldn't live without the guaranteed income.

This is as naked a scam as they go.

So, there are a ton of holiday specials, and each has their own patch? Are they worth playing? Do we get sexy time with girls we don't get in the regular game?
The one Halloween special that was included in Week 1 complete was a bit underwhelming. Lots of blah blah, and really nothing we had not seen before.
Are the other specials like that?

Depends on the special itself. Valentine, white day, Halloween 2018, and Lewdmas 2019 are all integrated into the game itself and are canon, the other 3 are just there to provide some extra sex scenes, some with characters that don't have sex scenes in the main game yet.

Yeah The future of the game doesn't look too good when the person that is supposed to be in charge has no idea of what is going on. This has to be one of the saddest ways of letting a game die.

He earned around $100k since he "started" the merge back in june 2020 while doing absolutely nothing. He must be really happy with his scheme, even now he stills gets $3k just by writing a small piece on patreon every 80 days.

The specials have their fans but are also fairly unpopular. I'd say they're all roughly the same as that Halloween special. You might want to try the 2019 Lewdmas just to see if the newer specials interest you more than the old ones, but if you don't you're not really missing much.

It's impossible to talk to BlueCat, cause he always gets defensive and arsey. I don't think he's deliberately conning people, but I do think he's a twat.

But yeah, as I said. More status reports like that post Latecomer gave us, where he actually went into the specifics of what the problem was. Sure, not all of us would be able to understand the techno babble, but enough people here would that could dumb it down for the rest of us. At the time, I was hoping we'd get more of that, but we went right back to meaningless word salad.

He doesn't talk like BC. Skummy has decent grammer, and is capable of not being an arsehole. BlueCat doesn't and can't.
What do you mean he knows what he's thinking? It's very likely that BC has told him what he's thinking.
Him being offline for medical and work related issues isn't random. That's just a thing that happens to all people.
And it's not weird that the PR Guy is doing PR. It's literally his job.

Unfortunately, I think this is right. For the supporters, it's their money. But as long as Bluecat is making thousands a month, I don't think he really cares about changing anything. You can call it scamming, incompetence, or whatever you want. I think it is all the same at this point.

I was honestly encouraged by Skummy's statement of Bluecat's alternate plan. It looked like Latecomer would be asked to deliver by the end of 2021, or go away, and Bluecat would find someone else to put out the game, or maybe even do it himself (gasp), but unfortunately it looks like complete bullshit now. It seems Bluecat is happy with Latecomer's (non)work, and will just keep using him as an excuse as to why nothing ever gets done.

That is what it looks like. Clearly Bluecat doesn't give a shit one way or the other what happens to his game. If Latecomer finally releases an update, good, if not, oh well. It's not his problem. Quite a turnaround from the bombastic posts of last year where he said that Ecchi Sensei was his life, that it would be the biggest game of all time, and that he would personally do whatever it took to be sure it lived on, better and better. If Bluecat cared, he would be extremely apologetic in his status updates, and would be explaining to his fans what he personally was going to do to make a release happen. He would also be releasing new content by now, whether merged or not, rather than (supposedly) sharing a few images with his 3 top-tier supporters only.

It doesn't seem very likely. Bluecat has an abrasive attitude pretty much 95% of the time, is extremely defensive and hostile to any questions. Plus, his language is pretty minimal on detail and descriptions. It is clear he doesn't write well in English. He also writes like a teenager.

Skummy, on the other hand, writes clearly like someone who is a native English speaker, or has spend much of his life in the US. I don't think he talks the same as Bluecat at all, and if you read Skummy's posts he actually admits he has no idea what Bluecat is thinking, or even what is going on. He tries, but it seems to be he is in the dark as much as the rest of us.

Bluecat could be hanging around looking at this forum for all we know, however, I can't see him posting anything coherent. But, that would assume he cares about his fans, or what anyone thinks.

oh the suggestion? actually there are two, 1) already made into BC's private message channel, add Dukez to the team he has shown he can put something together in hours instead of months. 2) its kinda pervy but, with the advent of so many smols in games lately i.e. daddys little girls, D.I.T., proud father , was wondering about releasing the asset cards for yuki to someone to make a lewd mod rather than trying to incorporate that directly into the game. you know he would go for the complete set.

So, got a cold late last year, I get seasonal colds but never flu and only stomach viruses and Covid back before anyone know what was going on. Instead just thinking it was a really bad flu despite the fact I can't actually get the flu and I couldn't breath. Fun times, doesn't happen regularly, and yeah I could have been here but decided against is because I get kinda loopy when I'm sick. So that was one week, sure I get it, yeah.

Then last Sunday I slipped and fell due to black ice and my dumb ass not salting properly beforehand to prevent it, my bad I accept I'm an idiot. I conked my head really fucking hard, but I have a notoriously thick skull, and had no concussion that I could tell. Despite this I had days of headaches and body aches from the fall, as it was asphalt I landed on and that shit ain't soft. I delayed work and just kinda chilled, this place spikes my blood pressure sometimes, ain't no reason to jump in when I feel like shit just to get told I'm in on a scam.

So sorry to the dickwads who think its oh so convenient that I was out at the start of the year, who think its all some master plan for me to get wall to wall fucked by circumstances for my into to 2022. Eat my ass.

On to people who actually give a damn, I'm fine, pissed, but fine. Thanks for concerns and reach outs, my apologies.

On to what people want to hear, sorry but I ain't got shit that's gonna make you happy, and I'm eating my own fucking words at this point. I'm gonna take this on the chin, yup I was wrong and I'll own it, I was way too optimistic, lay into me if you want but I did what I did and I'm owning it now. There's nothing to really say, but here's a rundown of what I've managed to piece together.

Ultimatum came and went, holidays were had instead of work, Bluecat did some work that he could with Merge shit, Late is still assigned to it. Nothing has changed, that's basically the take away. Bluecat is unaware at this time when he will release new content, but he did hire someone to help get the ball rolling while they wait on the Merge completion. No I don't know them, they're a translator for Blue.

As for those who believe me and Bluecat to be the same person, kindly fuck off with your nonsense, not in the mood. My head hurts, I just drove around in the aftermath of a winter storm, and I am probably going to go into lurk mode until I have relevant information to be shared.

Glad you're okay, Skummy. Weather has been fucking ridiculous these past few weeks.

While I truly appreciate the continued communication, it's disappointing to see this team continuously blunder in a manner almost identical to several failed businesses I used to interact with.

It's a common scenario: a promising but unexperienced designer/dev designs/protypes a product, hires on a few over-promising and affordable "rockstars" to help development (because good, consistent devs know what they're worth), and then everything goes to shit because of the sheer incompetence displayed by a team that doesn't understand or know teamwork. In situations like this, company heads seem to take the exact laissez faire stance as BC: in an attempt to salvage their own sanity amongst the crumbling ruins of their business, they let the workers work almost unmanaged and then blame everything on the workers when something goes wrong. I imagine the faulty logic behind this is something akin to "Since the workers are the ones responsible for any output whatsoever, I cannot be blamed for not achieving results."

I've become quite disenchanted. I've lost all faith in LateComer. I still have a nostalgic glimmer of hope for BC's sake.

Not every project should be attempted, and not every team deserves to succeed. Time will tell.
