Well, the problem with most RPGM games is, that they are often walking simulators, terribly grindy, and to be honest, the RPGM gameplay loop is boring, especially since it plays like a 25 years old JRPG you played a hundred times before, sometimes with pointless achievement system to look more modern. Games like LOQO also have the problem, that a lot of things you do there feel like a chore. Most RPGM games are the same outdated game and the sex scenes are sparse at best, not to mention the repetitive gameplay. If you could at least get some badass (visible) gear, customise you character, the combat wasn't the same every time, have more story branches, etc., it would be better. The only RPGM game that has a good density of content for me is Roundscape, so it makes up for the gameplay. Peasant's Quest is fun if you can skip the level grinding with cheats. A lot of RPGM story concepts would work in VN format, and they use this engine just to prolong the gameplay, but not all, of coarse. They don't have combat, nor any kind of progression. They just make you run around tons of maps. That's why I understand why a lot of people hate this engine. There are various kinds of people on here but a very vocal group hates any engine that involves any sort of gameplay.
RPGM, Unity etc... if it involves more than clicking to move to sex scene then some people will rage against it some will even demand an engine change even if it's not possible. I've seen people demand games like Legend of Queen Opala, Roundscape Adorevia etc.. be changed from RPGM to Re'npy. Those are full on RPG's which means a move to Ren'py would literally be just a slide show with no context or substance.
There are also a lot of people on here that aren't gamers.
The reason RPGM gets hate is because people get lost on the maps and don't know how to progress because they have never played an actual game before so exploration confuses them. Not saying that to be a bitch, that's the complaints I see. Unity tends to be the same, games made on that tend to either be full movement or at least sandbox VN that involves using a map to navigate.
Again, not saying this to be bitchy but there are people that demand walkthroughs for games that have 2 kinds of options the obvious good one and the obvious bad one. I've seen people complain about dating sims because they couldn't get the girl they wanted when the only thing they had to do was not be a dick to her.
Long story short, do what you want to do. You will find a player base but you will never please everyone.
If you mean right before cumming, I think that cum animations/pics are not in the game yet.Hello! First of all thanks for the wonderful game.
I think I am experiencing a bug or something: I feel like animations get abruptly cut off, is it just me?
we both know this all couldve been avoided if he didnt switch to Unity which he clearly doesnt have much experience inWell I'll be damned. A free month? Letting go of 30 something thousand dollars. That was a total surprise. Guess it's hard to call this a money grab now. Fwiw, despite the huge amounts he's making, he's still an artist who cares about a good product, never doubted that. Bravo LL, hoping you can turn this around.
Yessir. Thank you! I had thought it was due to the aspect ratio problem mentioned in the developer notes. If you mean right before cumming, I think that cum animations/pics are not in the game yet.
you should have quote the guys that come here speaking shit of him, it whould have do for a good laugh. #BazingaHey everyone,
So with Midnight Paradise 0.2 release today to Elite tier, and 3 days later to everyone else, I have come to a decision based on a number of different things.
As you probably know, I've been going through some rough times lately and haven't been able to fully focus on creating the best game I possibly can for you.
About one and a half weeks ago I found my motivation again, just to be plunged back into chaos by the current state of the game.
I am dissatisfied.
There are many things that should be in place by now, and they are not. Some of it is my fault and some are the fault of my team members'.
Honestly, I feel like I'm being let down and in turn I feel like I'm letting you guys down.
And this doesn't feel right at all.
I also couldn't meet deadlines this year. I truly feel ashamed of this. If you've been following me since the start of DoD, you know I always delivered on time, even by the minute on most occasions.
Now I'm planning a smaller update content-wise in May, with all the core features that are needed for a polished game.
I feel like the 0.3 release in May will be what this release should be.
I also couldn't deliver a release in March. I really feel bad about these things and it's been eating at me for a while now.
Due to these reasons, I'm pausing my campaign for the next cycle, meaning none of the current Patrons will be charged on May 1st. Essentially it means you'll be getting the 0.3 release next month for free.
Please note though, I'm not taking a break. This isn't about that. I will still be working, harder than I've managed recently, and the 0.3 release is still coming in May.
However, I couldn't keep my promises to you lately and I feel like I don't deserve your hard-earned money until I set this straight.
You don't have to do anything with your pledges, no need to edit them, Patreon simply won't charge on the 1st and that's it.
Thank you for the kind words and support.

I think before you start the game you must go to options and choose to skip both seen and unseen.so i got the new 0.2 version, i'm using 0.2 walkthrough and it says use ctrl to skip. i'm trying to get back to where i was in 0.1 but skip isn't working. my options is greyed so i can't click options and scroll wheel does nothing.
they are greyed out for meI think before you start the game you must go to options and choose to skip both seen and unseen.
Its there but the limit is exceededit’s on the first page.
Agree, this game definitely shouldn't have used unity. Unnecessary complexity. Further updates aren't going to change that. I seriously doubt he'll switch to renpy though.we both know this all couldve been avoided if he didnt switch to Unity which he clearly doesnt have much experience in
i hope that within the the next couple of updates he will switch back to Renpy i would love to enjoy this game but as it stands
the models are far less attractive then his previous game the only models i like is the big sister and the milfs
the main character is such a douche
i could be being hard on the developer seeing how his master piece came out in 2017 but come on all he has to do is some research on some games that were being made since the mid 2018
you may not like it but i do, and im sure almost all his patreon do love the game.Agree, this game definitely shouldn't have used unity. Unnecessary complexity. Further updates aren't going to change that. I seriously doubt he'll switch to renpy though.
Terrible gameplay, terrible plot and douchy mc. Sadly, seems like the dev is committed to seeing this to completion. I like that the dev's sticking with his vision, but his fans lose. Will play for the pretty renders.
Still baffles me how LL could write such a stiff lifeless game that feels a lot like Big Brother than DoD. DoD was such a memorable masterpiece. This one doesn't have a fraction of the charm and its too late to salvage.
