Welcome to FAC

[edit]

Hi Vanderwaalforces and thank you for your nomination to FAC. A few pointers on the process and how to get the best from it:

What to expect

  • As a first time nominator at FAC, the nominated article will need to pass a source-to-text integrity spot check and a review for over-close paraphrasing in addition to all of the usual requirements.
  • You should be aware that every aspect of the article will be rigorously examined, including the standard of prose; breadth, standard and formatting of sources; image licencing; and adherence to the Manual of Style.

Dealing with reviewers

  • Try to deal with comments in a timely and constructive fashion.
  • Remember that reviewers are constructively giving their opinion on the article.
  • Keep calm when dealing with criticism of any aspect of the article.
  • Don't take the criticism personally: reviewers are examining the article – not you!

How to get the best from the process

  • Reviewing the work of others is a good way to get a grasp of the process from the other side.
  • Reviewing other FACs also increases the likelihood that others will review your nomination – although remember there is no quid pro quo at FAC.

Good luck with your nomination.

Way to go

[edit]

Hello @Kavyansh.Singh, thank you for you comments in this nomination, I worked on it based on your feedback. I would like you to please take a look at it and tell me if there are other things you spot. Before that, I'd like to answer the last point your brought up, that yes, it appears to be a regular occurrence in Oyo: 2019, 2023, 2021, etc. Do you think it is not regular enough and should be removed entirely. Also Singh, I want to say that concerning your questions on * And is the president compelled to talk on "reflecting on Nigeria's achievements, challenges, and aspirations", or is it something usually observed in these sort of addresses? The thing is, yes, the president of Nigeria give a speech on every independence day celebration, except of course the year the crash happened. So, it is just what it is.

Also @FrB.TG, thank you so much too for your comments which I have tended to. I would love it if you can take a look again and tell me a way forward.

@AirshipJungleman29 you also raised concern of the FA criteria 1d, I have worked on this and would also love it if you can give another look at the article, please.

I think we're not far from achieving the FA criteria so, I would really love your feedback as they (FrB.TG and Singh) were not attended to before the nomination was archived. Thank you all. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 13:26, 25 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Vanderwaalforces, apologies for the late reply but I see you've already nominated the article again. I'll review it again if I get a chance. FrB.TG (talk) 20:59, 1 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
